This is where I learned culinary technique while focusing on healing and nourishment through health supportive natural foods. I have been able to utilize this knowledge and create nutritionally balanced menus to support our clients' special dietary needs, including food allergies and chronic disease.
Graduation from NGI was followed with the establishment of my first Natural Foods Personal Chef business, “Naturally Beth”. With the success of this business, I was encouraged to continue my education earning an Associates Degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management at Montgomery County Community College. This experience further strengthened my understanding of the culinary industry, widening my perspective on industry trends and becoming fluent in food safety.
My journey continued as I was recruited to assist in the start-up of Max & David’s Kosher Restaurant in Elkins Park, PA. As Catering Manager and General Manager over a period of five years, I was afforded the opportunity to learn the ropes of the restaurant industry and prepare myself for the future.
Feeling ready to move on to follow my passion for healing foods and nutrition, I left my restaurant job and enrolled in the prestigious Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. After an intensive year of studying over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques and innovative coaching methods, I earned my Holistic Coach Certification.
I studied the Transformational Coaching Method, a revolutionary training to enhance coaching practice as well as personal growth. This method focuses on the art and science of transformation and neuro-linguistic programming. This deeper understanding and practice of coaching further helps me help others create a deep and long-lasting connection between their beliefs, desires, and actions.
In October 2015, I began my journey toward certification as a Macrobiotic Counselor, something I am incredibly passionate about and have aspired to do for many years. I had the good fortune to study with David Brisco of Macrobiotic America. During this program, I examined the foundation of macrobiotic principals, anatomy, physiology, facial diagnosis, and food energetics.
One thing is for certain, education is a never-ending process. The more I learn about food, cooking, and new ingredients, and the more I learn about holistic health and coaching, the more I realize there is still so much more to learn. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share the knowledge and skills I've learned with my clients.
