Getting Saucy with BBQ, Chermoula, "Creamy" Butternut Squash, Hoisin, Chimichurri, Herb Aioli & More! 🍴

  • Brown rice pasta with a white bean and mushroom bolognese, and garlic kale

Here at Grateful Plate, we are big believers in getting SAUCY! Monday's menu is chock-full of saucy entrees and we hope you're ready for a one-way ticket to flavorville. For some dishes, the sauce is a huge element in the cooking of the dish. For instance, our BBQ Pulled Chicken or Pork with Black Beans over Wild Rice is slow cooked to infuse deep, sweet, smoky flavor into the meat and beans. For our Hoisin Sesame Salmon over Mashed Edamame (hint: even if you don't fancy the Salmon, order the edamame by the pint, 'cause it's THAT GOOD!), the sauce is added just prior to the Salmon going in the oven to be roasted, which gives it a delicious glaze. Our newest favorite sauce is actually part of our specialty salad of the week. If you did not try it the last time around, our Turmeric Miso Quinoa Salad is a must! We're talking a sauce so good it deserves a straw.

Other meals come with a side sauce that adds the perfect burst of flavor, or contrast in taste and texture. Our Moroccan Lentil and Pumpkin Stew can be ordered vegan, or you can add Lamb to it. In either case, our rich, herbaceous Chermoula sauce has it all going on, and is the perfect accompaniment to this Moroccan dish. Shifting cuisines to South America, our Argentinian Seared Chicken with Chimichurri Sauce, Sautéed Carrots, Red Bell Peppers and Greens is not to be missed. Once again utilizing fresh herbs to create a flavor-packed sauce; Chimichurri is slightly tart and adds an extra zing to this dish.

Then there are our more "creamy" sauces. Of course, in true Grateful Plate fashion, just because a sauce is creamy, that doesn't mean it needs dairy to be delicious and perfectly textured. For those of you who are always looking for ways to incorporate more vegetables into your diet (or someone else's!), look no further than our Spaghetti with Creamy Butternut Squash Sauce. Rich in flavor and texture, this vegan sauce is a little sweet and a whole lotta yum! Last and certainly not least, accompanying our out-of-this-world Chipotle Apple Turkey Meatloaf with Caramelized Onions is our Herb Aioli. Simply made with fresh herbs and organic mayo, enjoy this aioli knowing it's about as healthy and "clean" an aioli as you'll find, anywhere.

We would love to know how you get saucy, so please share with us any suggestions or ideas for sauces you'd like to see us incorporate into future menus. For now, we hope that you enjoy this week's menu and remember to chew well! Cheers.
